I don’t mean to sound too much like your mother, but you should get into the habit of eating a good breakfast. You may want to consider keeping a box of breakfast bars handy for all those mornings you’re running late for class. There are a multitude of breakfast bars available on the market. Pick one with a high fibre content if you can. If you have a little more time on hand, there are plenty of quick, inexpensive breakfast foods that will provide you with enough energy to get through a morning full of classes. Cold breakfast cereals, hot oatmeal (really hits the spot on those dreary winter mornings), fresh fruit, yogurt, a bagel (with or without cream cheese/jam) are all foods you may want to keep in stock, and they take just a couple of minutes to prepare. Most university cafeterias sell similar items, but they’re usually expensive and it’s best to avoid getting into the habit of purchasing your breakfast every morning.
You may find yourself using coffee to get you through those early morning classes. Try to avoid consuming coffee alone for breakfast. There’s nothing wrong with a cup of coffee in the morning, just remember to keep it to a minimum, and eat some food, too.
